Brittney & Nathan were easily the most carefree and worry free couple I have ever worked with. I knew that Brittney’s wedding was going to be spectacular. I stalked her and her mother’s pinterest boards and I also knew they hired one of the preeminent florists in the area, Holly Chapple. Brittney’s mom also works at my daughter’s school so I would hear little updates once in a while from my daughter. Leading up to the wedding I remember talking to Brittney and she was so calm about everything and seemed very confident that everything would go well. I have never worked with a more relaxed bride! The day of the wedding, the weather was perfect but it was also the day of the Lucketts flea market, which could have posed a problem for traffic. As good luck and back roads would have it, we arrived with plenty of time to spare. I always prefer getting to my weddings early. It allows me the chance to capture scenic shots and take in the venue, which in this case was Riverside on the Potomac. This was my second wedding at Riverside and it did not disappoint. The weather was absolutely perfect and the wedding day progressed as smoothly as ever.
The bride’s father created a gorgeous focal point for the ceremony made of antique doors with a scripture verse above them. Holly Chapple accented these with a gorgeous spray of flowers. When I saw the handiwork of these two together, it was jaw dropping. Then as I proceeded to the reception space, it became something right out of a pinterest dream. The flowers and the decorations complemented each other so perfectly. The over abundance of peonies didn’t hurt either 🙂
Before the ceremony began, we decided to do something a little different and we had a first look for the parents of the bride. Her bridesmaids surrounded her to keep her hidden. It was a poignant moment for Brittney’s dad where he choked up and knew his little girl would soon be a Mrs. These moments at a wedding are what I live for!
The weather cooperated with us and we were able to capture some gorgeous shots that I know they will cherish forever. Congratulations Brittney & Nathan!

The head table was decorated with these floral trellises. Gorgeous!
She had a cookie and a pie bar.
Brittney’s grandma had the moves!
This little one hung on for as long as she could.
