It seems like forever since I’ve stared at the page of my blog, putting a post together. With the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year, I gave myself a much needed blogging break. Not that I haven’t had a ton of sessions, weddings, and the like to post, but I just needed to focus on other aspects of my business to ensure that my clients get their images in a timely manner and so the blog is the first thing on my list that takes a back seat when crunch time happens and well, fall is just that. So thank you all for being patient as I get back into the swing of blogging.
This wedding has been begging to be blogged since I photographed it last summer. I can’t believe it’s been a year! Mai and John got married at Washington D.C.’s The Anderson House. It is owned by The Society of the Cincinnati and it was one of the most gorgeous venues I have ever photographed at. It is timeless, elegant, and captivating all at the same time. Since I hadn’t photographed there before, I decided to take a tour of The Anderson House. If you are ever in the D.C. area and you appreciate history, this should be on your tour list. It was a fascinating home built by Larz and Isabel Anderson, and it was just one of their many homes.
One of the greatest aspects to this wedding was the uniting of two cultures, Latin and Japanese. Mai surprised John and his family with a Mariachi band, which led the entire wedding party to the wedding reception as they walked through the streets of D.C. Halfway through the reception, Mai changed into a traditional kimono which brought in her Japanese heritage. It was an elegant affair from start to finish and very personal too.
Enjoy!
