This past month I photographed one of Shannon’s bridesmaids weddings and I couldn’t help but smile, seeing all of the familiar faces from Shannon and Mike’s wedding and I just knew this one had to go on the blog. It was such a fun celebration of their love. Have you been to those weddings where you watch the day unfold and you can’t stop smiling because the feelings are just so palpable? Well, that was Shannon and Mike’s wedding at Great Marsh Estate. Nothing was overly fussy or overdone. Everything for them was about their family and friends and you could tell their family and friends felt that too, as everyone exchanged smiles and hugs all day long. Those are the kind of weddings I want to be a part of.
Great Marsh Estate was the ideal location for their day as Shannon planned most of the wedding herself with the idea that the wedding would be experiential and guests would go from place to place for each part of the day. The nice thing about Great Marsh Estate is that it lends itself naturally to this flow. Guests started out with the ceremony at the back of the property. Next, they were taken to cocktail hour at the front of the property, and then in almost a New Orleans style second line, they were led by a saxophonist down the long drive in a wedding march to the reception. Talk about festive! It was so much fun to capture as the images will tell. Enjoy this lovely day for Shannon and Mike.
