Gitta and Tomas are such sweet and simple people, so down to earth and easy going. When Gitta told me she wanted to get married at her childhood home in the Plains the movie, “The Father of the Bride” came to mind. The difference here was that they didn’t need to revamp their whole house in order to host the wedding. Everything about this DIY wedding was well thought out and reflected their unique personalities in every respect. Having a farm wedding in Virginia is a beautiful way to host a wedding. I could photograph farm weddings every weekend. It was wonderful to see to groom’s family come all the way from Ecuador and unite in a special bond with Gitta’s family. They will remember this day forever and I am so glad I was able to be their story teller. What a blessing and a privilege!

Loved this locket that Gitta gave to her friends.Gitta’s sister Jessica, did her hair and I know you can’t tell from this getting ready photo, but it turned out beautifully!
Gitta’s mom seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress.
I love the anticipation involved in first looks. When my couples do a first look, we have so much more time for portraits and they get to enjoy their cocktail hour. It’s a win, win.
Look at Gitta’s dad seeing her for the first time. You can see the look of love on his face. I live for moments like these.
LOVE the one of them kissing by the barn door! awesome!
