Great things have been happening here over that last couple of months. First off, I won two wedding photography awards. The first was the Knot’s best pick of weddings, which includes the top 1 % of wedding photographers in the country. The second award was Wedding Wire’s Couple’s Choice Award for 2014, which also recognizes the top performing wedding photographers. And as if that wasn’t enough, I found out that a wedding I photographed this past fall will be in the fall issue of the Knot Magazine. Needless to say, I am feeling so blessed and grateful for these recognitions. I know I couldn’t have done any of this without the wonderful couples I get to capture. I just want to thank you guys for being so rad and having me be a part of your day. It truly is awesome!!
The very first thing wonderful thing of 2014 was John and Chrissy’s wedding. Their wedding took place at the very beginning of January, just after Christmas amidst snow on the ground. Here in Virginia we have had an over abundance of snow but I can tell you that it does make for some beautiful wedding photography. I absolutely loved every part of their wedding. Chrissy is the little sister of one of my brides from 2012, Joanna, and I love witnessing life events from the same family. It’s such a special experience. John and Chrissy are probably the most in sync couple I have ever worked with. They are giddy and so happy around each other. They have that fresh high school love still going strong and everyone who is around them knows exactly what I’m talking about. They were married by Chrissy grandfather at the Church of the Nativity in Burke. After their ceremony, we headed over to Burke Lake for some formal portraits, which was amazing covered in snow. Lastly we headed over to The Waterford for their reception and it was my first time photographing there. It was such a lovely indoor venue. Once the party started, there was no stopping. It was way too much fun, but such a great way to start the new year. Enjoy!
Of course, he’s just kidding!
And then we found this perfect park bench and the hot chocolate I made earlier that morning mad an appearance. Love my Stanley thermos 🙂
Chrissy, you look like you popped right out of a magazine!
Because Chrissy gave so much time for formal portrait after the ceremony, they started their cocktail hour a little later and they were able to join in the fun.
Chrissy Grandmother was getting down and it was so much fun!
These are absolutely stunning!!!
You are the best! There are so many amazing pictures of my niece and new nephew.
