These two lovely people were wed this past November at their church in Burke with a reception at the Old Town Hall in Fairfax City. When I first met Elizabeth, she was the nicest person I have ever encountered. She is soft spoken, kind, and every e-mail she would send to me oozed graciousness. I knew that I wanted to photograph her wedding as soon as I met her. In my life I don’t think I’ve ever met a more kind soul. She always seemed so laid back and calm. Then her dad gave her away as he gave his toast and indicated that she was quite the active baby and child and quite the talker too. And then there is Jerome. He is a perfect southern gentleman, always attentive to Elizabeth and her needs. I loved watching him interact with Elizabeth because you could tell, that all he cared about was her. They met in a Christian fellowship group at college. I know of no better way to meet someone than while you’re serving others and it was no surprise to me that this was how their love began.
Elizabeth and Jerome, it was an honor and joy to be a part of your wedding day!
This monogram was sewn into the bottom of Elizabeth’s dress and it was done by her sister.
Elizabeth opted to give her grandmother her bouquet instead of doing a bouquet toss. I loved her reaction to that gesture!
College friends.
