I can’t even tell you how excited and happy I am to welcome a new year! We decided to spend the holidays at the happiest place on earth with our family and it was a wonderful experience and a great way to close out 2013. There are so many wonderful highlights from last year and I am looking forward to sharing those with you in the upcoming blog posts. I look back on last year and I’m so grateful for the generous couples and families that invited me in to their lives to tell their story through my lens. To document their relationships is an intimate and humbling experience. There were lots of laughter, some tears, and so much love. I can’t thank my couples and families enough for allowing me to be a part of that.
Now I get to start all over again and this next year will be a little different for me in some ways. About half way through my wedding season this last year I took some time to meditate and think about the direction of my business. I realized that while I would love to photograph every wedding that comes my way, it’s probably not what’s best for my business or my family. My dilemma has always been that I absolutely love weddings, everything about them. It could be called an addiction by some but anything in excess is probably not a balanced way to approach things. So with that in mind I have decided to make my weddings just a little more exclusive and a little more with keeping in line with my boutique business model of providing highly personalized wedding photography services. What this will translate into is photographing around 24 select weddings every year. In the past it has been common to photograph anywhere between 35-40+ weddings in any given year. I have had brides select weekday wedding dates to accommodate my services. I have loved and valued every single one of my wedding clients and have been beyond grateful for the extra lengths they have gone to in order to have me as their wedding photographer. After photographing countless weddings, and now refining my services to something I feel will be the best for both my couples and myself, I can honestly say this next year has me excited.
I have only a few dates left for 2014 and am booking into 2015. A very special thanks goes to all of my past wedding clients who continually refer their newly engaged friends to me. I love seeing familiar faces at the weddings I capture and it truly makes me feel like I’m not just your photographer, but your friend as well. So here’s to a very Happy New Year!

Can’t wait! My first wedding of 2014 is this Saturday. Chrissy and John wanted a movie poster theme for their “Save the Date” and it was fun capturing this in my studio and mocking it up in Photoshop.
Haha, this save the date is way to cute! Happy New Year!
What a fun couple!
