How many of you watched the Olympics yesterday and saw Chloe Kim’s amazing half pipe performance? I was so taken with her talent and skill, but even more than that, I think I became a fan of Chloe’s dad. I mean, how could you not give him the cutest dad award as he held up the homemade sign drawn with big red hearts?! I just found the whole thing so dang heartwarming and beautiful! I’m so thankful that we have the Olympics on in the middle of winter. I don’t know about you, but I need a good winter diversion as we wait out the cold temperatures without any snow…..
We had a good couple of days of rain here in Virginia and while my kids are utterly disappointed with the lack of snow days, I’m grateful for the sun that is shining today and for the way it picks me up. Growing up in the Seattle area, you really come to appreciate the sun when it is out. It reminded me of this beautiful engagement session at Dumbarton Oaks with Cassi & Patrick.
Cassi & Patrick were married this past spring at The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards. These two are the kind of people you just want to be best friends with. They treat everyone with such kindness and grace. This was Cassi’s e-mail to me when she got her wedding photos: “We’ve been traveling for a few weeks, and we’re so anxious to get back because we knew the wedding photos had been delivered- and they did not disappoint! They are amazing!! Can’t thank you enough for capturing our wedding so beautifully.” Honestly as a wedding photographer, you deliver the gallery and you cross your fingers that your couple is going to love everything. So much energy and effort goes into the photography experience that you just want your clients to be happy in the end. Hearing back from Cassi was such a sweet reminder of how thoughtful she is!
Enjoy these engagement pics and tomorrow I’ll share their wedding!
